Tawhid and Tajrid: Journal of Thought and Art is an international peer-reviewed academic journal that focuses on the concepts of Tawhid and Tecrid, aiming to bring original academic works produced in the fields of art and thought to researchers, artists and readers. The journal is published once a year in December and features high-quality works produced in the fields of art, aesthetics, architecture, literature, music, cinema, art history, philosophy of art and related disciplines.
The fundamental starting point of our journal is to re-evaluate the artistic and intellectual heritage of Islamic civilisation within its own conceptual framework. In this context, Tawhid is treated as the fundamental principle expressing the unity of existence and the centrality of truth; Tajarid, meanwhile, is considered the manifestation of this unity in the realms of art, thought and aesthetics. The journal encourages the interpretation of works of art and intellectual productions not merely as historical objects, but as manifestations of humanity’s quest for truth, production of meaning and aesthetic experience.

Building on the fact that Islamic art and intellectual traditions have been evaluated over the years within various epistemological and methodological frameworks, Tevhid ve Tecrid aims to develop new avenues for discussion in these fields. The journal supports studies that examine traditional and contemporary artistic productions within their own historical, cultural and metaphysical contexts; by encouraging interdisciplinary research, it contributes to a deeper understanding of the relationship between art and thought.
Although the language of publication is Turkish, articles are published in both Turkish-English and Turkish-Arabic. This facilitates access to the journal’s content for both academic circles in Turkey and international researchers, thereby creating a strong platform for interaction between scientific and intellectual traditions across different regions.
Submissions to the journal undergo a double-blind peer review process in accordance with the principles of scientific impartiality and academic ethics. The final assessment of works to be published is carried out by the editor and the editorial board, based on the peer review reports. This process aims to safeguard scientific quality and support studies that make original contributions to the field.
Tevhid ve Tecrid: Journal of Thought and Art aims to serve as an academic platform bridging the past and the future, tradition and modernity, and art and thought. Our journal invites all researchers, academics and artists who wish to re-examine art, aesthetics and thought from the perspective of tevhid and tecrid to contribute to this shared scholarly and intellectual ground.
